W.A.F or WAF stands for Web Application Firewall. Similar to a PC firewall. WAF is like a security gate between your website and the traffic trying to enter it. It inspects all traffic using multi-layered security checkpoints letting in only the good traffic. WAF is the most effective way to stop attempts to bring down your site through an overload of fake traffic. These attacks are callled Distributed Denial of Service or DDOS. DDoS attacks can result in financial loss, reputation damage, and legal problems. With WAF you're guarded 24/7.
